ATM Skimming Podcast
Losses from ATM skimming continue to grow each year, now reaching more than $1 billion, according to the U.S. Secret Service. This practice, in which criminals steal personal financial information from ATM users, is hard to stop.
Skimming is also made easier by the ATM card technology used by U.S. financial institutions that employs a magnetic stripe to store information. Other countries have switched to technologies that are more difficult for skimmers to defeat.
Listen to a recent podcast from Bank Info Security — U.S. Mag Stripe Fuels ATM Skimming — as ADT’s John Pearce discusses the importance of having a layered security plan to combat this serious crime.
