Chemical Security Workshop

By Ryan Loughin, on August 30, 2011

On September 13, Chemical Industry Council of California (CICC) and ADT Advanced Integration will host a one-day interactive security workshop focused on the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA), Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) and the Ammonium Nitrate Program.  Held in Norwalk, California, the program will feature speakers from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the US Coast Guard, FBI, petrochemical companies and chemical industry trade associations.

During the full day workshop, expert panelists will discuss chemical security best practices and will field questions from the audience. I’ll have the opportunity to participate in a panel discussion with Lance Boyer, BP’s Regional Security Advisor, and Joe Olivarez, Baker Hughes’ VP of Western Hemisphere Security, titled Controlling the Cost of Compliance: What to Consider. We will also be joined by industry association leaders Bill Allmond, VP Government Relations at SOCMA, and Elizabeth O’Neal of NACD Government Affairs, sharing the latest CFATS legislation updates in the House and Senate from this past summer.

Attendees will have exclusive access to panelists and hear from a wide range of other key session speakers, including:

  • Moderator: CICC Executive Director, John Ulrich
  • U.S. Coast Guard Deputy Chief, James T. Bull
  • Chemical Security Attorney, Steve Roberts
  • Other regulatory experts, DHS CFATS Inspectors, US Coast Guard, InfraGard, Intelligence & Law Enforcement

I invite you to learn more, and reserve a space at this year’s Chemical Security Workshop. We hope to see you there.
