ADT Commercial Security will officially be named Tyco Integrated Security in the coming months, with the full separation to be finalized in September. The new name was announced in late March at the ISC West show, where we spoke with many of the security industry reporters who had questions about the separation, including:

• Who will lead ADT Commercial Security, soon to be Tyco Integrated Security, during the transition? Answer: Brian McDonald.
• Will Simplex Grinnell be merged under the new name? Answer: No.
• What’s happening right now, during the separation and transition? Answer here.

 

Jay Hauhn, CTO of ADT Commercial Security, soon to be Tyco Integrated Security, was interviewed about the forthcoming separation by Martha Entwistle of Security Systems News. The video interview can be seen at this link. In the video, Mr. Hauhn highlights the post-split details and strategy and also gives his take on the future of the industry, including the race to the cloud.
