School should be a safe haven for our kids. No parent wants to feel that they are putting their child in harm’s way by simply sending them off for a day of learning. However, during the last school year, there were approximately 2 million incidents of violence, theft, or other crimes in our kids elementary and secondary schools. And, according to the Bureau of Justice, 160,000 students miss school each year for fear of being bullied.
On September 8th at 9PM EST, ADT and The Safety Mom, national advocate for safety issues, are hosting a twitter party that every parent of a school aged child should join. Come hear the eye opening results of our Parents Back to School Safety Survey. We will also be discussing:
- The latest technology for keeping schools safe
- What questions you should be asking your school administrators
- Procedures that should be implemented in the school
- And, what you should be talking to your kids about
