ASIS 2011 began this morning with the exciting announcement that Tyco International, parent company of ADT, will be separating into three independent, publically traded companies. The three companies created will consist of:

• The world’s leading commercial fire and security business
• ADT North America residential security business
• The world’s leading provider of flow control products and services

Most notably, ADT Commercial will now combine with Tyco’s fire protection business (both market leaders) to create a new global leader in commercial security and fire markets. The company will generate powerful synergies and more value for commercial customers, as well as new and exciting opportunities for employees around the world. The ADT Residential/Small Business unit will now be separated to better focus on and serve its unique customer base.

The separation is planned to be finalized over the course of the next twelve months, with all Tyco companies operating business as usual until such time. Read more about this exciting announcement in the news release issued this morning.
